Sweaters!

ok everyone, I took a break from T-shirts (well not really, I just didn't take any photos of my projects this week, hahaha) and I used my creative energy towards re-fashioning some men's 80's style sweaters.

I had two XL mens cable knits, so stylish...right??
I love cable knit but, well...these are pretty dated.

so I turned them into these..

much better!
the white one is a size 6 and the blue one is a little smaller a size 4

I also had a green men's size Large V neck sweater which I turned into this

this is a HUGE hit with Sophia so I think this one will be staying :)
She is still wearing the Blue Ruffle Skirt

I also had this turtle neck winner
real high fashion...right?
but this is really soft beautiful fabric,
it is a shame it is so ugly.
This screams RE-FASHION ME!!

and as I was looking for inspiration...I came across this

this sweater I LOVE, but there is a black stain on the sleeve, and it is a little small for Sophia.
She still wears it but every time I put it on her,
I wish both things weren't true.
SO on Thursday morning (yes this morning) we are up at 6:00am, I get all my stuff together and make this

BAM!!!!

Here they are side by side...not bad for an early morning project!
All I need is a big button for it!

I defiantly see some more sweaters in this pattern coming soon
LOVE IT

Thanks for taking the time to check this out

STRIPES!

I got pretty excited about some stripes this weekend, but as i looked around the house I realized I don't really have any
So I went to Old Navy and hit the sale rack....I wanted a bold striped pattern,  this is one of the gems I found........ it's a Large but the Larger the better, more fabric to work with
I love the colors!

and I made it into these !!!
super comfy baggy shorts with POCKETS!!
Whoot Whoot, everyone LOVES pockets!
this is a 3T size

So on the stripes kick I made this, which I LOVE!

The stripes in all directions! So adorable and ready for a little lady

But my final project this weekend is something for my littlest lady Sophia, you know for all of her hard work "measuring" the cat, check this LINK out, if you don't know what I am talking about....... CHECK THIS OUT!

I see this shirt at Old Navy which is SOFFFFFFTTT and super cute, but not really working for me. But I think...hhhmmmm this would be a really cute girl's dress

and that is exactly what I did
I made Sophia a dress

It is so soft and light, even with the long sleeves I am sure she can wear it in the summer.

I LOVE this pattern and can make all sizes. And a plus to this design is an older girl can wear it as a shirt.
The draw string waist makes it a great "grow with me" dress. Everyone loves something that lasts more then one season, I know I do.

I have been working on a few things that are NOT  T-shirt related, I will post those next week, they are pretty AWESOME if I do say so myself.

Thanks for taking the time to check this out

My little Helper

So some of you may be wondering where my littlest lady is when I am sewing.... this is an interesting question, with an interesting answer.
I like to think of her as my little helper, but in reality she is more of a hinderer..... SSSShhhh don't tell her I said that ;)

Little Miss Sophia is 14months old and she is getting a demanding personality.... seems that she likes clothes. But not all clothes, she likes certain things and she is not afraid to ask for what she wants, just like her sisters!

Here is a typical day with my little "helper"
I found some oneies that no longer fit her so my thought is lets make some dresses!!

here is my little "helper" ready and waiting for her first task

How about today you can be ......"Tape measure Director"
Being in charge of the tape measure wasn't enough.... sooo.........
let's measure the cat
God I love this cat! he was a kitten when my older girls were little. We are pretty sure he is 13, maybe 14 years old. You can do anything to this guy, he is so sweet to kids! Honestly I wish he would scratch my little helper sometimes, maybe she wouldn't pull him around as much

well she measured long enough for me to complete a dress for her
well not really but you get the idea

I can't remember if she ever fit the WHOLE cow in her mouth ;)
My silly little lady

the good news Sophia loves the dress, she wore it for three days straight, the bad news I think she stained it with all the cherry tomatoes she devoured yesterday
oh well, there is always another day and another dress to make

thanks for checking this out

Week #3 up-cycle T-shirts

Winding down the March madness month of refashioned T-shirts projects.
I branched out with some beautiful blue, that I found in an upstairs closet. I will never tell who's closet  ;)

Blue Ruffle Skirt
this fits my little one who is 14months old but wears 24months clothes, her waist is 21.5 inches
LOVE IT!

she is so concerned. I think she thinks I was going to take the skirt off. She screamed to wear this one. See how she is holding on to it.
I guess I will have to teach her the sign for Skirt, it will come in handy.
Shirt by Green Egg way to CUTE!

I know the next photo is blurry, I took this right when I put the skirt on her, I wasn't really ready .....but look at her excitement !

BLUE RUFFLE SKIRT HOORAY!

SUPER soft gray skirt
