T-Shrit Skirt

This is the start of my sewing challenge.

March's Theme ....up-cycled T-shrits
After searching for a super cute skirt pattern, I found one on Pinterest, of course!!
So I started out with some old t-shirts

A lot of times I find great things on Pinterest but with no pattern, or not even connected to a website, just an image, frustrating.  The image is great but for people like me.... I want to make it!
so some details are huge time savers.

did some cutting and pinning
And presto Sophia has a new skirt

so SUPER soft and easy to make, but keep in mind anything I make, I sell, and I can custom make anything for you.

thanks for looking, and let me know if a little girl in your life needs an up-cycled skirt

OH Logan!

We have gotten a lot of snow in the past weeks, so much that my horses haven't really been adventuring out into the lower pastures. They have been staying by the barn.
Today I picked up the baby and looked out the window and saw this.......

so just in case you can not figure out
what you are looking at here is a close up
that is right is it is a horse on his back down in the snow.

A few thoughts cross my mind 1st "wow Logan is enjoying the sun"
it is almost 40 degrees today
I grab my camera and start snapping some photos, but I have my 50mm lens on, and I am pretty far away, I think to myself there is no way I will have enough time, before he gets up to change lenses to zoom in on him. But, after I snap a few photos, he hasn't moved,
I quickly switch lenses and snap the 2nd photo
After I put the camera down, I start to think........ maybe something is wrong, maybe he is dead :(
I have to go down there and check.
I get dressed, thats right I wasn't dressed and get some warm clothes on my toddler and grab my PAVO and do a quick back carry.
As I hike down to the barn I start to think
WHAT THE HECK AM I GOING TO DO?
what if he is hurt, what if he is dead????
As I approach the barn I can hear him calling, he isn't dead ...THANK GOD!
I grab his halter and the shovel, he is clearly stuck.
I walk out into the pasture and the snow is above my knee, it is super hard to walk out to where he is.
he is laying there so clam and quiet, I touch his extended leg to make sure he is aware of my presence. He starts moaning and turning his head from side to side, something you could not see from the house, because the hole he was in was so deep.
I talk to him as I start to shovel the snow from around him, my thought is if I can give him enough space to get his hips around maybe he can get up on his own. Other then that, I have no idea!
I bet he went down to roll and the snow was so deep that he sank down really far in the middle of the roll and couldn't continue over or get himself back.
I dug out all around him and the started yelling and waving the lead rope around, telling him to fight.
It was a LOT of heavy wet snow shoveling, that would have been a lot of work without the 26 lb toddler on my back.
He started to stir and wiggle around, I contiune yelling and waving my arms and the lead rope.....He finally got to his feet and trotted away, thankfully he was lame at all. I tried to go up to him and rub him, to tell him it was ok, but he really didn't want anything to do with me, can't say I blame him
He isn't t the sharpest tool in the shed, but I was certainly glad he was calm durning the whole ordeal.
OH LOGAN!!

Winter Sled Ride

Winter Sled ride.
I can not believe I forgot I had an LLBean sled, from when my older girls were little.
Today after my quilting class we took it out for a test ride
... even in the freezing temps today Sophia was ready to go, YEAH VERMONT GIRL!
Here we go.....

All bundled up in her PA sweatshirt and her new Bogs,  she was all cozy in the sled.
We took Marshel with us. He wasn't super excited about the sled following us. He is sort of a big baby.
Did I forget to mention that Marshel LOVES Sophia <3
He had to stop for a little kiss
ok maybe more of a little nibble
they were in deep thought. I am pretty sure they were both thinking about food.

Marshel was pretty excited that we were stopping so often to take photos, he is the laziest dog
super successful sled ride down the road. Hooray for LLBean, this sled is 20 years old and looks brand new. Little Miss Sophia loved it and Mr Marsh certainly had a good time also!
Anyone that is thinking about getting a Bernese Mountain Dog ...DO IT, they are the BEST. Look at that face :)
