Exciting news at three little ladys

There is some exciting news brewing here at three little ladys

The Pre-order for my vintage rompers was a huge success.

and with that under my belt, and those orders in production, I am getting ready to launch my website on March 20th @ 11pm,
www.threelittleladies.bigcartel.com
There will be even more vintage rompers, but with very limited size choices, so order early!!
Once the fabric is gone, it is gone :(

But that isn't even the most exciting part.
Many of you know I have an adult daughter, I know, I know how could someone my age have an adult daughter ...LOL
well I am older then I look and I had her young...

But wouldn't you know my daughter, Sarah is pretty crafty.
SHE'S CRAFTY!!!
She is the foundered of LittleBird Designs. She lives in the south and down there girls are girly girls.
PERFECT fit for her!
They wear headbands and matching clothes and even more then that they monogram EVERYTHING!
And she does it all, the head bands, the monograming and anything else I can make to match her creations.
SO with all of that information I would like to introduce

DIY Baby Carrier

For those of you that don't know, I am a avid babywearer <3
So maybe you are wondering.... baby wearer?!?!?
Well here is it, babywearing...carrying your little one in some sort of carrier.
And there are MANY different kinds of carriers, that is a whole other blog post altogether.

But let's get back to why I am posting this blog.
I made a carrier!!!
A WCMT, a wrap conversion mai tei

My oldest daughter loves this type of carrier, and they are (or can be) pretty expensive so being the slick DIYer that I am, I put myself to the test.

I bought a tablecloth off amazon, that's right a Mahogany tablecloth. This is a very important part, choosing the right material. It has to be strong enough to support your little monkey. VERY IMPORTANT !!!!

and I researched patterns, this made my head spin.... all the choices.
I narrowed it down to a couple that had things that my daughter liked, wrap shoulder straps, hood, the strap waistband she liked.

here are a few links to good tutorials

check them both out

SOOOO.... It took me longer to get the nerve up to cut the fabric then to actually sew the carrier together.

I didn't account for the hood so I panicked a little that I wouldn't have enough fabric for the waist band or waist straps.

but I came up with a plan and
I laid out the pattern pieces and stared at it for some time...

and then I began to cut out the shoulder straps
Hooray for the rotary cutter!!

then the body

the hood cut out

Pinning it all together

all together, now for the waist!

the waist is pinned on....looking good

the wrap shoulder straps

 ALL TOGETHER !!!

I am so in love with this carrier!
too bad I made it for my daughter.
before we send it down south Sophia had to try it out

Some daddy snuggles

totally toddler worthy :)

Little Miss Sophia fell right asleep
And John said she felt weightless in the carrier.

I am one happy Momma!

I am shipping it out tomorrow
be on the look out for photos of Sarah and her little monkey in the carrier

Soft Book

I was invited to a special little boy's birthday party
so the wheels in my brain started spinning
What was a I going to make him?

I found these old jeans and came up with an idea.....

I cut a few rectangles and then some cut outs

Pinned a few things together with some batting in the middle

Stitched around the outside

Added some color to the cut outs

And there it is a soft box for a little guy turning one!
Oh what FUN!!!

Happy Birthday little William
